RegistryFix Review

The developers of RegistryFix have come up with a unique registry repair program. They have located the most common locations on your PC that are the cause of many problems and programmed the RegistryFix software so that it will scan and fix any invalid registry enties found there. RegistryFix will tell you where the registry errors are located and what potential errors they may cause your computer.

Some of the errors RegistryFix scan and fixies include ActiveX controls, DLL issues, Windows Explorer issues and System32 errors.

RegistryFix works with all versions of Windows except Vista. Windows Xp, Windows ME, Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows 2000 are all compatible.

The RegistryFix Review

When you first open RegistryFix you are shown a very nice looking graphical program interface with a number of clearly labeled buttons, these include Preferences, Backup, Advanced Options and Live Update. You begin in the Scanning area of the program. You can choose to do a complete registry scan and let the program scan all areas of your registry automatically or the program offers you a number of other scan options that you can select using check boxes. These options include scanning your operating systems Application Paths, Windows Fonts, Help Files and Startup Programs.

Once you have decided what to scan for you simply click the big orange Scan Now button and RegistryFix will proceed with scanning the contents of your registry seeking out potential problems. Scan times with RegistryFix are quick and as the scan progresses your are shown a running tally of problems found in each of the different registry areas on your computer. Once the scan is completed you can choose to simply remove all the problem files found or take your time and manually review each of the registry entries and decide if you want them to stay or go.

Other options in RegistryFix include the backup area. Here you can backup your registry files in case an accidental deletion of an important registry file occurs. If this does happen then you simply restore your registry to where it was previously.

Advanced options in RegistryFix include the Browser Helper Object Manager. BHO's come in the form of unwanted tool bars or other Internet Explorer add-ons that get installed without your permission or knowledge. Using the RegistryFix Browser Helper Object Manager you can deactivate or remove these objects.

Another advanced option is the Startup Program Manager. Using this feature you can take control of all your startup programs. These programs take up valuable resources on your computer and most of the time aren't needed at startup so go be removed or deleted altogether which in turn will improve your systems performance.

In the Preferences tab you can choose to have RegistryFix startup with Windows, create an ignore list of files not to scan and have the program make a log file each time it performs a scan.

You can also get the latest program updates simply by clicking the Live Update button in the program.
